We should be careful with the usage of the word "fallout"! Here are some great definitions of the birder term, fallout.
Birds that are forced during migration to land in areas they would not normally inhabit in order to avoid harsh weather -Sibley
Another great definition we have read is...A fallout is, in the birding sense of the word, a mass of birds, exceptional in both number and diversity, that descends on a given locale as a result of meteorological or seasonal forces.
Although nice for birders a fallout spells out danger for the birds. Many migrants perish during the event of a real fallout.
