Just a heads-up for Sunday: Rickenbacker Causeway and Crandon Boulevard are part of a course to be used during a 62-mile bicycle event. Florida Highway Patrol officers will escort riders and only one lane going east (toward the Village of Key Biscayne) will be open to cars. The traffic detours and delays are expected from 8 AM through 10 AM.

The first rider is expected to arrive at the causeway tollbooth at 8:15 AM. If TASers can be at the entrance to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park before 8 AM, there should be minimal delays. We'll finish the walk after the last cyclist exits the causeway, so leaving shouldn't be a problem. You can always get to the Key early and breakfast at the Donut Gallery, a local favorite. (I've never seen them serve donuts!) At the first traffic light, turn right onto Harbor Drive and turn into the small shopping center with a 7-11 on the corner. The counter-style restaurant is in the NW corner of the group of stores.
