Yes, neither is that unusual. Today a beautiful male baltimore (usually I see females/immatures here) flew over the house. It was being chased by a mockingbird, of course.. The size difference was very apparent- the local spot-breasteds (that usually aren't chased away, even though they feed in the mocker's shrub all the time) are definitely larger. The ovenbird was in my friend's car. I had the door opened to unload something; when I returned, it was sitting on the dashboard. With a little coaxing it was out of the car. Nothing much else lately in the neighborhood.
