The Florida Ornithological Society has been the NAMC sponsor in Florida; I'm not sure who sponsors the count at the national level (a quick Google search failed to find anything). Until last year, Bob Henderson was the state NAMC compiler. Last spring, Elena Sachs, from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, took over as state compiler. It's the responsibility of the state compiler to send NAMC tally sheets and compilation spreadsheets to county compilers. As of this moment, I have not received these documents from Elena or anyone else. The tally sheets I've been sending to count volunteers are revised versions of forms sent to me for the spring count.
If there's anyone out there who could shed some light on this mystery, I'd like to hear from you. In the meantime, I encourage everyone who plans to participate in tomorrow's count to do so as planned. It's my hope that the valuable data we collect tomorrow will at some point find a home beyond my laptop.
