The "rooster area" was coined by a TAS field trip leader and dear friend, the late Jill Rosenfield. A D Barnes Park was one of her favorite places to bird. The location in question, on your left when you enter the park, was so called simply because a rooster used to hang out there. In memory of Jill, the name still sticks with those who knew and loved her.
