The Western Spindalis ( I really hate this new name!) was seen this
morning at around 8:30 a.m. I saw it with C.J. Crimes, Paul Bithorn and
Carmen Tarantino. This bird appears to be a young male molting into
adult plumage. It is the most drab one that I have ever seen. We got
some photos and I got some recordings of it's call.

After entering the Bill Bagg's State Park make your first right turn
into the parking lot for No Name Harbor. This is a couple of blocks
from the entrance booth. Park in the parking lot and walk south about
100 yards down the paved path into the Hammock. Look for a white paper
plate stuck to a tree on the left side of the path. Follow the plastic
bags and bottles (tied to the trees) trail east into the Hammock about
150 feet. Look for a faded pink ribbon hanging from a tree next to a
Strangler Fig. The bird was seen feeding in this area. Yes I will pick
up the garbage after the bird has left the area!! I found this garbage
on the ground in the Hammock to use for markers.

We did not see or hear the La Sagra's Flycatcher.
