: Dusky-headed Parakeet- only found in Miami Springs (north of Miami International Airport)
: Check Pranty's page 223. We had them at around the nursing home. Blue-crowned Parakeets should be in the area. Crimson-fronted is in the area, but in low number and tougher to find.
:
: Blue-crowned Parakeet- should be seen anywhere in Ft. Lauderdale, but I don't know much about where in the city.
:
: Mealy Parrots- check out Pranty's page 227 and read on the Miller Roost. Mealy can sometimes be there.
:
: Chestnut-fronted Macaw- sometimes at Miller Roost, often in Miami Shores and Biscayne Park, North Miami, and in other places. I don't know of a roost site that they use in the summer often.
:
: Spot-breasted Oriole- don't know much about them in the Ft. L area.
:
: Mangrove Cuckoo- Snake Bight in ENP is the best spot for them, but we came up empty. You should check out Susan Schneider's latest post. Search the board for posts related to the cuckoo.
:
: Black-whiskered Vireo has recently been seen in Aventura, which is the closest area to find them from your area. I'd also try Matheson Hammock in South Miami.
:
: In St. Petersburg, you will probably get Black-hooded Parakeets after cruising the suburbs in the morning eventually. You won't get Budgies or the turtle dove there. Budgies are farther north, and the doves have been replaced by collard-doves.
:
: By the way, we couldn't find the Red-footed Booby, Black Noddy group, or Bahamas Mockingbird you reported.
