Birded the park this morning with a friend. My second time at this park. Originally wanted to check out Arch Creek, but that was closed (my 2nd strike out trying to go there). Love the trees and vegetation there but the air potatoes need to be controlled or it will get worse than Indian Hammocks. Highlights:
Green Heron
Downy Woodpecker (2)
Red-eyed Vireo (4)
Barn Swallows
BG Gnatcatcher (10)
N. Parula (3)
Black-throated Blue W. (female) (1)
Prairie Warbler (3)
Redstart (male) (1)
Worm-eating Warbler (1)
Ovenbird (1) many more heard
Also saw a Cooper's Hawk (immature), in Kendall, waiting to ambush Mourning and Collared Doves flying to roost in a large tree late afternoon, almost evening. I believe it successfully caught a dove as it flew into the tree, but didn't fly out. The doves all scattered.
