I spent a couple of hours walking at Dump Marsh hoping to find an Empid or two... no luck there but saw a few interesting things.
1. This dragonfly was being attacked by the swarm of smaller flies/gnats or whatever... never see that before.
2. A Red-tailed Hawk was soaring with the vultures at the dump. Unusual to see Red-tailed hawk in this area.
3. A Gray Kingbird began calling... it sounded familiar, but not what I was use to hearing from a Gray Kingbird. When I got home I listened to a few recordings and found the call to be that of an Ash-throated Flycatcher... go figure!
I also saw:
2 Prairie Warbler
1 Prothanotary
1 Belted Kingfisher
Barn Swallows
2 Common Ground Dove (making note because of Brian's comment earlier)
