Snake at Green Cay: ident

Green Cay and Wakodahatchee were both hot and somewhat disappointing Saturday. The Duck weed is so thick at Green Cay that this snake didn't have to swim. Can anyone provide an identification on it? Birds were scarce but we did get a good and long view of a black-crowned night heron. The alligators have hatched from the very obvious and close gator nest. If you have never seen a gator nest this is the time to see this rather impressive structure.
