The wood duck ducklings (3 in number)continue to mature at Hoechoka Hammock(Sawgrass & University). They now tend to stay by themselves separating often from the Mottled Ducks. When they are separated they are best viewed from a SFWMD pump station pull out off University Drive about 150 yards north of the Mary Help of Christian School turn-in. The otter often play in the small lagoon also. A large lift station is located there and ample room to pull out and park. When the Wood Ducks are in company with the Mottled Ducks they are best viewed from the Garden-Hammock area on the Church grounds. The male is frequently seen.
