I decided to look for Flamingos today, so I went down Snake Bight this morning. I found about 17 shortly after noon today. They were in the eastern portion of the bight. Other birds of note included 3 Avocets that repeatedly walked up to the boardwalk, 20+ Black-necked Stilts, 20+ nearby Roseate Spoonbills (not to mention the distant ones), 6 Gull-billed Terns, and 4 distant gulls that appeared to be Great Black-backed. If you go down Snake Bight. Mosquitoes were quite noticable (but not as bad as last month), and I did not bird the trail itself. Past the Rowdy Bend junction, the trail is somewhat overgrown.

I birded around Eco Pond beforehand, finding my first Marsh Wren of the fall (possibly Worthington's, aka griseus...most of the Marsh Wrens I've actually seen did not look like this! Drab, with flank barring.). There were also at least two Cave Swallows present (one adult, one youngster) along with the Barn, Tree, and NRW Swallows. I thought for a second that I had a Cliff too, but it turned out to be the young Cave. It even perched on a bare tree for a bit, removing any possibility I might call it a Cliff. An Indigo Bunting flew over while I was standing on the platform. No Lincoln's Sparrow.
