I've been to this place several times since coming back from Maine 10 days or so ago. It has not been great, but never dead either; there is normally at least one small feeding flock within 50 yards of the bridge. I am posting this to advise people who can't spare the time to drive south to Barnes, Matheson, etc.
Some great news is that it is now open from "Sunrise to Sunset," a huge improvement over the previous hours. Incomplete list of birds seen follows:
Green Heron
GB Heron
RB Woodpecker (common, but great to see after none all summer)
RE Vireo
BG Gnatcatcher
Brown Thrasher
Warblers
Black & White
BT Blue
mystery warbler today with all-yellow underneath; quick look only
mystery warbler (?) today with brownish back, obvious wingbars, yellow underneath,
constant, quick movement along branches and from tree to tree
Parula
Prairie
Redstart
Worm-eating
Yellow-throated
Summer Tanager (this AM)
