100-700 is not an estimate; it's a very vague range that probably includes the true number of bulbuls present. 700 is the largest number ever published (but from at least second-hand sources and with no reference cited -- all three of the "Lane Guide" to Florida stated 700 bulbuls). During my little study, in which I searched the Miami Bird Board archives and posted an RFI for locations, I mapped 20 discrete spots with bulbuls seen during 2005-2009. So my minimum number of 100 seems an underestimate given the likely dozens of spots occupied by bulbuls but not reported to me.
