After work headed to the MDCEC in Kendall upon invitation by Jake Tucker for some afternoon birdwatching. The place was full of Chimney Swifts (I had never seen so may at once) calling and some performing weird flight displays. Some Barn Swallows and a single Purple Martin were mixed in.

In addition had several Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, a Prairie Warbler, a couple of male Redstarts and a Louisiana Watherthrush. The usual resident birds were also seen. Jake said Brown Thrashers were regularly being seen there but I did not see any. In the adjacent neighborhood had a Peahen with 3 half-grown chicks.
