Hey Everyone,
Spent some time this morning looking for the thick-billed Vireo, but to no avail. Not even a scold or sound of it. In the area were Red-eyed Vireo, Prairie Warbler, Yellow-throated Warbler, Northern Parula, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Hill Myna, and Orange-winged Parrots (those are the ones we couldn't ID yesterday. They were seen again today). Before I got there this morning, I had a flock of about 100 Red-masked Parakeets outside the house along the wires and all along the top of the neighbor's oak tree. Also seen in the yard were 2 Spot-breasted Orioles, White-winged, Eurasian Collared-, and Mourning Dove, Common Grackle, House Sparrow, and today I added Bronzed Cowbird to that list! My dad had records of it in the yard as far back as 2007, but I'd never seen one in the area until today.
