Hey Everyone,
a nice group of birders showed up at 730ish to find the Vireo at Matheson. With some scolding in response to a call, we were hopeful. Some of us saw a quick ID view of the bird before it flew, while most didn't see it well or at all. I will try again in the morning tomorrow for a better view. Other birds in the area: Red-eyed Vireo, Prairie Warbler, 2 Ovenbirds, lots of Hill Mynas, several Gnatcatchers, and some parrots we couldn't ID. They were loud, with a distinct warbling quality to their call, and they had short orange/bronzy tails/undertail coverts. Any ideas?
Back at my parents house near AD Barnes, I was greeted by a pair of Spot-breasted Orioles. Last night, we saw our first American Redstart of the season.
