Alex (and Kevin):

Thank you very much for these leads. Things are looking up since my last post and it looks like I'll have good opportunities for birding Sunday, so I'm making my decisions based on your info.

Alex--sorry to hear the Red-footed Booby, Black Noddy group, or Bahamas Mockingbird were missing. On the other hand, having read your Dry Tortugas report closely, it seems things had changed a fair amount out there--I had only Ruddy Turnstones for shorebirds in the tent area (eating handouts!). Despite walking the whole inside of the fort, I had basically very few birds, just Mourning and a couple Eur. Collared Doves, a Gray Kingbird (videotaped) and a few Cattle Egrets. I had just one Turkey Vulture soaring with the Frigatebirds and terns. I also missed Shiny Cowbird in Key West, although I only heard one should try along Flagler Ave. so I had no real stake-out. I'm going to try at Flamingo hopefully this next weekend.

I'm real impressed by your non-avian sightings report from Dry Tortugas, by the way--that one is going to get reported to the family when I get home tonight!

Best

Scott Atkinson
