Green Cay is one of the best sites for birds in the area. I go there whenever I can, since my brother lives nearby.
Last July I photographed Glossy Ibis and a group of 4 Roseate Spoonbills but I did not see either this summer. The spoonbills were there in January as well. This July I also found the Purple Gallinules and got my best photographs ever, since one climbed onto a tall plant to nibble. Not shy. The Purple Martins will most likely be gone by now but all kinds of great birds are coming, namely wintering warblers and Painted Buntings. I usually reliably find Northern Harriers there as well.
