The wood ducks are still present at Hoechoka Hammock but a little more skitterish. A four foot alligator crunched a turtle yesterdat evening and sent the Pekin, Roen and about 55 mottled ducks scattering in all directions. I believe the wood duck was somewhere in the melee.
She has three ducklings, hangs very close to the bank at the south end of the waterway and often comes up to the feeing station after the other ducks have left.
