Heyy Birders!! Well today in the afternoon I decided to go with my dad to Homestead to look for the robin and the nighthawk. In front of the City Hall facing east passing South Dixie Hwy theres a pond with exotic birds, especially ducks. Around there I had a Least Tern.
When I got to the City Hall parking lot, the minute I got out of the car I heard the robin doing its song. We had trouble finding it in the Mahogany tree. After a while, it flew across to the lawn. I did not have descent pics cuz of the cloudy skys and it was getting late.
Then we hurryed to the nighthawk place before it got dark. When we got there I had trouble finding it. There were about 10 common nighthawks in the fields. After a while I heard the call. I had to go a little more north on 217 ave . After that I had very good looks and offcourse the call. I also noticed wing beats. They were much more stiffer than the common. Well today I had a very good lifer(Antillean Nighthawk). Great birding!
