From 10 to 11:20am today I birded the agricultural field off of SW 217 Ave. and about 384 St, on the west side, then crossed Ingrham Hwy. and birded the fields south of Ingrham Hwy. I then went to Lucky Hammock road and drove down to the Annex where SFWM is constructing water disbursement canals. When they are done with all the construction (if ever), the wetlands might be good for shorebirds & waders. The habitat looks right at the present time. I walked along one of the dikes next to the water retention area and got a few birds there. The surprise was 2 Black-bellied Whistling Ducks and a Glossy Ibis and Spotted Sandpiper. Other birds are as follows:
Black-bellied Whistling-Duck 2
Little Blue Heron 3
Cattle Egret X
Green Heron 1
White Ibis 6
Glossy Ibis 1
Black Vulture 2
Swallow-tailed Kite 2

Black-necked Stilt 2

Least Sandpiper 5
