Yesterday we had some migrants on campus. The flock was small but it was still nice to see old friends again. Just before sunset a flock of shorebirds flew south just overhead. The calls were consistent with that of Least Sandpiper but two of the birds were Solitary Sandpipers. The flock may have had Semi-palms mixed in as some of the birds were a bit chunky and seem to have black legs. The small flock of passerines consisted of Prairie and Yellow-throated Warbler, Louisiana Waterthrush and some Blue-gray Gnatcatchers.
Get out there and bird, migrants are arriving!
