I've noticed one Blue Jay and now my male Red-bellied Woodpecker have problems with one eye. They seem glued shut. The Blue Jay hasn't been around in a few days; the Red-bellied seems a little better, his eye is open but crusty. Anyone have any ideas. Also, four of my approximately 12 Blue jays have deformed bills, ranging from just crossed at the very tip, to hooked and crossed further up the beak. The other birds of summer remain active and healthy; Blue-crowned parakeets, White-winged parakeets; Chestnut-fronted macaws are out of control, loud and multiplying; (as are the darned BT grackles); Cardinals, a few Martins here and there; Spot-breasted orioles heard but not seen; Ibis everywhere, etc.
