The park can be accessed either from US1 or from Card Sound Rd, since it is almost at the intersection of both. If driving down US1, make the left at the intersection into Card Sound Rd (CR 905/CR 905a); there will be a Circle K with a gas station on your left hand side and the entrance to the park will be about a quarter mile on your right hand side. Just do the opposite if coming down Card Sound Rd (turn left into the entrance before you reach the intersection). This section of the park is accessible without a backcountry permit. Park, go in, pay a dollar, and listen as you walk. The area where the cuckoos are being heard/seen is between the portable toilet and the pagoda (shelter), which will come right up, almost immediately. Be patient, they're there.
