Birds were noticeably on the move both today and yesterday.
At Larry and Penny Thompson Park, a Belted Kingfisher was at the large lake near the playground.
This morning, Chimney Swifts were flying around in large numbers over University of Miami's campus. I also saw a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher in the mangroves of Black Point Park.
Crandon Beach is experiencing its first waves of shorebirds, including Semipalmated Plover (~20) and singles of Semipalmated Sandpiper and Piping Plover.
