In keepiong with Toe's rule here is a present, immediate, timely, unusual bird sighting. (14:24EDT)
Rigth now at Hoechoka Hammock, (Sawgrass & University Drive N.E. Corner) is a female fulvous whistling duck with three ducklings that appear to be about 5 months old. This is our first recorded sighting of this species. Perhaps as the wood duck from last year these creatures came south from the park in Boca just north of us.
Oh yes, this year brown thrashers abound.!!!!!
Well, I thought that was unusual.
