I have a nice family of cardinals that have been using the yard lately. Yesterday the pair was taking a bath and drinking from the water fountain. The male jumped off and caught a fair-sized green anole. It carried it around a bit, then started moving the lizard's head around in its beak, mashing it up. Then he flew into a shrub with the lizard, and the female followed. Then I lost them. I didn't see them actually eating it though. I never realized that they caught (or ate) lizards. Otherwise, there has been a pretty large number of 'canary winged'(type?) parakeets around, and the orioles have been singing a lot and coming into the yard.
Little Havana area.
