I don't think there is anything at all boring about seeing any family of birds in your backyard! Going out to for collecting new bird I.D.'s etc. is very different than watching behavior of birds you see everyday in your backyard. I also have a family of N. Cardinals,Blue Jays, Boat-tailed Grackles and a resident Bronzed Cow-bird among others. The Monk Parakeets have taken over my feeders, emptying them within a few hours. The immature Monks sit up on my old T.V. antennae fluttering their wings begging for food from the parents. The Chevroned-winged Parakeets are very cute, holding each seed with one foot when feeding. They are a joy to behold!
