This is the same black-whiskered vireo site that Roger Hammer reported on 20 June. I live next door to Roger. A Black-whiskered first starting singing in our yards on 02 June, and has been singing incessantly every day ever since, beginning each morning about 6: 05 to 6: 10. It wasn't until about the 20th that I was certain that there was a second vireo hanging around. So Maryanne and I started serious searching for a nest. We found the nest on 25 June, about 30 feet up in the tip-top of a non-native Ficus tree in our front yard. She appears to be incubating. This is the first nesting record for black-whiskered in our neighborhood in the 22 years we have been here, just north of Homestead (and 1 mile west of U.S. One). JCO
