This morning, Bill, Trey and I (not the unexpected trio) went on a trek through the mangroves in south Dade to look for Clapper Rail. We heard at least 7, and got a look at one: June Challenge bird #148 ABA. Afterwards, Bill and I went by Dump Marsh and, among other birds, saw a Least Bittern, then a Reddish Egret, and upon turning around a flying Downy Woodpecker. Now, not knowing this, how likely is someone to see these three species in the same spot at the same time?
We also added a Budgie to our exotics list.
