Alison and I started our morning at Black Point/SW 248th St. where we encountered our lifer Mangrove Cuckoo (pictured). It gave us great looks for 5 minutes while hanging onto a stick insect. Many thanks to Toe and Brian for the tip on where to look.

We ran into Toe and Bill at Cutler Wetlands. Although there was water at the Wetlands, there wasn't much in the way of bird life. Five Least Sandpipers, several Cave Swallows, a Bronzed Cowbird, and a feeding Long-billed Dowitcher (completely straight bill and hump on back) were of the most interest. Lots of Killdeers and Semipalmated Plovers. Bill also had a Least Bittern flying over the reeds toward the south side of the Wetlands.
