OK folks, we are on the home stretch, and we'll need to add a few birds if we're to win this like last year, or fall off in shame and dishonor. With this in mind, I'm expanding our list of birds to look out for just in case. Please report any of the following seen in June. Remember, they must be seen in Dade. We came really close to adding Tropicbird to our list yesterday when a friend of mine saw one offshore, but he was off Hallandale at the time.
Look for the following:
Surf Scoter
Harlequin Duck
Little Egret
Plastic Flamingo (wild, not escapees)
Hudsonian Godwit
Sabine's Gull
Gull-billed Tern (almost had one, but turned out to be a Gull-billed Gull instead)
Key West Quail Dove
Spectacled Owl
Three-toed Woodpecker
Flame-coloured Tanager
Painted Bunting (I had one on July 6 a few years ago; it was delicious!)
and
Large-billed Reed Warbler
Get out and bird folks, we need your help!
PS: Has anyone seen my medication?
