The link below shows Brown-headed Cowbirds behaving as they were designed to, rather than hanging around the power lines near Dump Marsh. When the Bison got up and started grazing, the cowbirds ran around in the grass just ahead and to the side, picking off displaced insects. Viewing this behavior made me think that the occasional bird must have been accidentally ingested as a protein supplement.
OK, this isn't South Florida (it's northern Alberta, last Friday), so feel free to delete or ignore. I just thought some TAS members would find the shot interesting.
