Birded both places for about an hour at about noon today. Both places were very dry (last time I was there was for the Golden Plover), especially Cutler, which had only a few puddles with the birds concentrated around them. The usual birds, with the Swallow-tailed Kite soaring with Black Vultures being the highlight.
Mottled Duck (one had several ducklings at a Cutler puddle)
Tricolored Heron
Great Egret
Snowy Egret
Cattle Egret
Green Heron
Glossy Ibis
White Ibis
Turkey Vulture
Black Vulture
Osprey
Swallow-tailed Kite
Red-shouldered Hawk
Moorhens
Killdeer
Black-necked Stilt
Laughing Gull
Least Tern (one chased Osprey)
Collared Dove
Mourning Dove
C. Nighthawk
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Gray Kingbird
Loggerhead Shrike
Cave Swallow (many at Cutler gathering mud)
N. Mockingbird
Starling
House Sparrow
Red-winged Blackbird
Boat-tailed Grackle
Also had Chimney Swifts and 2 Black-hooded Parakeets near The Falls mall.
