About two and a half weeks ago I spotted my first boblinks in the field behind my portable at St. Justin Martyr Marine School where I teach science. After some easy investigation it was clear that I was looking at a male in breeding plumage. The next day, I counted the same adult male, 3 other males that were not as distinct, and several females. This small flock of birds hung out eating in the field for three days, and then continued along on their migration on day four. After consulting Peterson's and Sibley's guides I saw that their range did not include the Keys. I can testify that without a doubt they were here. Thought that some other "bird nerds" might like to know. Has anyone else seen them here?
