When I was in elementary and middle school, I lived in Miami Lakes for about five years. During that time, I only saw one Northern Cardinal on one occasion. I had several feeders up and birded the neighborhood/was outside just about every day. They just were not there.
Maybe they were out competed by the Cockatiels, Budgerigars, Peach-faced Lovebirds, Pin-tailed Whydahs, and Zebra Finches I attracted to the feeders!?
This was around NW 57 Avenue and NW 202 Street.
I never thought Northern Cardinals would get so much attention on the TAS board.
