I belong to a birding discussion group in Santa Barbara. Actually, I just joined it, even though I had been reading it for years. I was shocked to post the same comment, asking for help/advice from any of the birders who might have been to Minnesota. My message was rejected because they told me the discussion group was only to discuss Santa Barbara County birds and nothing else. I am not from Santa Barbara - I grew up in South Florida. I was sad to hear such a response and it sort of confirms my prejudice about Santa Barbara being just a little too special! That said, maybe they are just trying to protect themselves from all the junk messages that come in. I can see that TAS gets a fair bit of strange additions to the Bird Board - some of them I have accidentally opened and found them to be obscene.
Anyway, I hope to return the favor by helping you find any west coast birds, should you come to our area.
