I didn't see any marked trees on the west side of the road, only the cluster of four marked trees on the east side between markers 5 and 6. I arrived at DuPuis at about 6:45 am, but spent my first two hours in the vicinity of marker 3, the area I was led to believe (from the auto tour brochure) was the reintroduction site. It was 9:00 am when I arrived at the marked trees farther down the road.
While I agree that dawn and dusk is most productive for seeing RCWs, I've managed to find them at all times of the day. That's been especially true at Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area in Osceola County.
