Check out the section on Phenology, especially on Ddispersal of fruits and seeds in PB Tomlinson's book: "The biology of trees native to tropical Florida" (1980, second edition 2001). This indispensible botanical reference is usually available at the bookstore at Fairchild Tropical Gardens. This section also provides a chart showing season and duration of fruiting (admitting there are always exceptional trees and unusual years). This is a highly recommended addition for any south Florida birder's bookshelf. - Jim D
