There was some migrants in the yard today. A few redstarts, a black-throated blue and a common yellowthroat were in the back most of the day. While sitting in the chair, I noticed a female scarlet tanager (!) eating elderberries in the yard. This is a great plant for birds- a mockingbird guards it, the spot- breasted orioles use it, a catbird frequented it in the winter, and others. It's growing all over the easement in this neighborhood. It springs up everywhere- but its a great asset. Also, amazingly the indigo bunting that's been around for a few months is still at the feeder today. Little Havana area of Miami.
