I disagree, it is not gnarly, and there is no reason to be stoked. Common Terns are annual off of the Florida Atlantic in May, especially during prevailing east winds.
As for surfing, it is socially frowned upon, boring, and not good for you. I'd rather watch moths and listen to Kesha for the rest of my life than surf ever again.
