I spent a pleasant morning and afternoon in the Upper and Middle Keys yesterday. The highlight of the day was a pair of Mangrove Cuckoos at the Dagny Johnson State Botanical Site. The birds were heard, then seen not far in from the entrance and just before you reach the circle with the shelter and picnic tables. One of the birds was exceptionally accomodating, and gave me the longest and perhaps best look I've ever had of Mangrove Cuckoo. Black-whiskered Vireos were also singing and seen in this area.

Later in the day, I saw a few Roseate Terns mixed in with many Least Terns on the roofs of the buildings at the Marathon Government Center.
