If you are interested in seeing Purple Swamp Hens, there are many in various small wetlands along Hiatus Rd. between Commercial Blvd. and McNab Rd. in Tamarac, which is in Broward County. This is 40-45 minutes away (one-way) from Miami-Dade birding.
