For our final walk of the season we had the fewest birders (3) and the fewest species (38). There must be some message in that. Maybe that is reflected in the fact that most of our birds and birders have or are about to leave for northern climes (myself included). It was a great season though and I wish everyone good speed until we start up again next November.

I hope that the TASboard readers have found these postings of interest -- either merely for informational reasons or to spark enough interest to actually attend our walks. I've had numerous emails from people around the country and from abroad inquiring about these walks so I consider it a success and hope to continue posting next season.

I will sign off this season with a photo of an immature Little Blue Heron which we have watched grow up. It is almost an adult now.

Oh, and as an additional note, on my way home from Loxahatchee, I saw and photographed the Gray Kingbird that is hanging around beautiful downtown Delray Beach. Cool! (See separate thread 'gray kingbirds-delray' started by 'bill' for a photo.)

Until next season,

Rick
