Soon after my last post, I got an email from Naples birder Phil Barrett telling me that he had seen two male Bobolinks on the soccer field at nearby Pelican Bay Community Park in North Naples at 11:30AM. I drove over to Pelican Bay Community Park shortly after 4:00PM. Naturally, the Bobolinks were gone and just European Starlings remained. On a hunch, I went to the south end of the park where the two huge fruiting Ficus trees are located (south of the bocci court and along the border with the condos). I had 7 warbler species in this tree:

Northern Parula (x2)
Black-throated Blue Warbler (x2)
Cape May Warbler (x1)
Ovenbird (x1)
Black-and-white Warbler (x2)
American Redstart (x1)
Backpoll Warbler (x2)

Nothing else of note was there. These fruiting ficus trees should be watched in the days to come. The sea grapes around the sides of the trees could harbor a Swainson's Warbler. Worth a shot!
