Jody and I birded Fort Zachary Taylor Historic SP for about 4 ½ hrs today. We didn't go into the pines or the beach. The Osprey and the two Great Crested Flycatchers were seen in the pine trees from the parking lot.
There may have been more than two Scissor-tailed Flycatchers. We saw two in two different locations. They may have been the same birds.
On the way back we stopped for 45 minutes at Key West Botanical Gardens. Both reports are below. The data was captured with some new software I'm trying out, and the report was generated by eBird. The time stamp is the time I ticked the first bird of that particular species.
We also stopped at the Government Center in Marathon where we ran into the TAS group working their way to Key West. Before the group showed up Jody and I spotted two Roseate Terns that made a brief appearance over the roof. There were also many Least Terns. The TAS group stayed a little longer, so they may have something else to report.
