in Wakodahatchee. One is observable from thirty feet from the board walk. The other two are distant (need 10x binos)from the concrete walkway. About 200 feet. The two on the north side water bin are in danger of high water and the birds are building the nests higher as the water rises. The first nest that is close to the boardwalk now has water within 4 feet of the nests. Fledging should be in about 13-15 more days.
Of note: no blue-winged teal contrasting with last year when there were many
: only four of the ten mottled duck babies survived
: tern numbers are increasing
: the Purple gallinule egss hatched and mom and chicks are scurrying about
: several people reported a hawk cruising the area and the description and size sounds llike a cooper's hawk. No visual on that.
