Eighteen intrepid birders joined together this morning for the TAS walk in Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP. Even a prolonged soaking couldn't dampen this crew's sense of humor and sense of adventure! We were short on birds but long on good conversation. The best birds were in-the-hand Worm-eating and Black-throated Blue Warblers and a Gray Catbird, generously furnished by the SFBO banding team. Two good warblers, Hooded and Northern Waterthrush, were heard only but we had great looks at American Redstart males, Prairies, female Cape May, Northern Parula and an adult White-crowned Pigeon. Our mystery falcon was filmed by Steve Siegel and its ID remains, well, a mystery. It's either a giant Merlin or small Peregrine.

Many thanks to this wonderful group of South Florida birders! On a personal note, it was great to place faces to names.
