I'm so excited about the green wing maccaw but he/she must be someone's escaped pet as Miami has only 28 feral blue and gold macaws. Does the macaw have a band? It's been my experience that escaped macaws don't fare as well as the wild population. I try to keep tabs on the wild flock and there has been two instances of a scarlet and a military flying with the wild ones for a season or two but that has been it. Hope this gorgeous bird finds a wild mate- only then does he/she stand a chance.
